Requirements Management

Motivation

Many companies still create their product requirement specifications, performance specifications and other specifications in Word and PDF. Although they recognize that using a requirements management system is advantageous, they are reluctant to switch to it.

We make the changeover manageable for companies of all sizes, starting from a sole proprietorship, to medium-sized companies, as well as large international corporations.

1.  Create product requirement specifications, performance specifications and other specifications in a requirements management system.
2.  Enjoy the benefits of having both a fast implementation process and easy administration.
3.  Use the industry standards for sharing your orders.
4.  Reduce your own operating expenses very easily through increased transparency and automation of processes.
5.  And: Eliminate all the work done on Word and PDF requirements document IMMEDIATELY.

Editions Overview

Our editions are optimized for the lowest "lifecycle" costs. This enables you to save on personnel costs. Therefore, an investment in our requirements management systems will prove to be worthwhile within a few months.

The core basis of our solutions is that, if possible, all concerned parties use our requirements management systems and, consequently, do away with the time-consuming work involved when editing Word or PDF. We have realized that the size of a company or organization is a decisive factor that significantly influences our editions.

Integration of suppliers and service providers

For efficient cooperation between suppliers and service providers, a smooth exchange of orders is essential. A huge risk, posed by the classic way of sending requirements via e-mail, is the possibility of having misunderstandings. This method of communication can also be time-consuming, especially when it comes to maintaining consistency and always being up to date. In this context, requirements management systems are far much better because they are the "single source of truth".

When it comes to the user requirement specification or functional specification, requirements management systems offer the advantage that not documents, but individual costs of the assignment are compared. This allows efficient processing. If the alternative approach of commenting on specifications is followed, individual requirements can be edited specifically by the relevant experts without having to laboriously recreate a Word document.

In order to take advantage of these benefits and avoid wasting the valuable time of scarce engineering resources on administrative work, all parties involved must have a requirements management system in place so that they can exchange information via RegIF. Our editions allow this to be done cost-effectively and independent of the company’s size.

As an alternative, some companies decide to offer their suppliers and service providers direct access to the company's requirements management system. This is problematic in terms of the licensing regulations, especially regarding trades that are common today, because the licensors usually rule out the possibility of granting licenses to third parties. Apart from this problem, any access to the internal company network poses a potential security risk. Instead of allowing suppliers and service providers access to the company's internal network, we integrate them securely for you via a protection zone. Technologically, we decouple your internal network through a protective zone, whereby the data traffic is only controlled from the inside to the outside but not vice versa. In the protection zone, we enable the processing of the requirement documents for the supplier or service provider. What they require is just a browser.

Our range of services

Our editions are optimized for the lowest "lifecycle" costs. This enables you to save on personnel costs. An investment that pays off.

From conception to operation, we are at your disposal as your reliable partner.

Structure of the RM editions

Requirements Management Systems consist of an application and a database installed on the server's operating system. Users access this configuration either via client or web browser.

Our editions - except for the Enterprise Edition - are based on PTC Integrity and are implemented on Microsoft technologies. We use virtual machines with all necessary operating systems and database licenses. You as a customer benefits from this structure not only in terms of simplified license management, but above all, our structure ensures high long-term availability of the system.

In deviation from this, the Enterprise Edition is also available on other technologies (Linux, Oracle database). You as a customer decide freely on the structure of the installation and can therefore carry out the optimization according to other criteria, rather than "lifecycle" costs.

In addition to our Integrity Editions, we also offer a Web Edition as a Requirements Management System. This solution is our front end when we connect to our suppliers and service providers using PTC Integrity.

Our Web Edition is available as a virtual machine or alternatively as a cloud solution. Of course, this solution can also be operated as a stand-alone solution. In addition to PTC Integrity, PTC Windchill, IBM Rational Doors and many other systems can also be connected.
